The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an important opportunity for all Members (parents and guardians of Madrona students) to hear the Board’s Annual Report, review the financial statements for the past year, and take part in decisions that guide Madrona’s future. This year, Members will be asked to approve by Special Resolution the adoption of the Society’s updated Bylaws. The Bylaws have been amended to meet present practices, to make participation in the governance of the Society easier for all Members, and to ensure compliance with the Societies Act (which governs all societies in British Columbia, including Madrona).  Your participation is critical — we require a quorum of 20 Members or 10% of the membership (whichever is greater) for the AGM to proceed. The holding of the AGM with the required membership present is mandatory under the Societies Act.
