GET AN INSIGHT INTO

MADRONA'S LEARNING COMMUNITY AND
EDUCATIONAL APPROACH
FOR K-GRADE 8 STUDENTS

Madrona is a small community of neurodiverse kids, families, and educators. Our school excels in providing a nurturing and joyful environment for the education of bright and gifted students.

In embracing and celebrating their unique qualities, Madrona provides a safe environment for neurodivergent and neurotypical kids to flex their strengths and prepare them for the bigger world.

WHY CHOOSE

MADRONA?

Madrona School exists for the education of gifted, bright and 2e students. We know that each student’s gifts are different, and we celebrate the unique qualities of our students to prepare them for the world we share.

At Madrona, our advantage is our low student-to-educator ratio, which allows us to focus on project-based and independent learning. The team at Madrona acknowledges that many gifted students are advanced in some areas but need support in other areas. Our teaching approach allows us to intentionally address and personalize the asynchronous pathways of each of our students.

"

After leaving Madrona in 2019, I attended the University Transition Program at UBC, graduated from high school in 2020, and began pursuing my university education. I’ve just completed my second year of a combined Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Computer Science, and Masters of Management degree, both of which I will graduate with in 2024. I’m now working full time as a software engineer intern at Dialogue Health Technologies, where I’m able to combine my passion for coding with my interest in helping people and making the world a better place through technology.

MADRONA'S

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL APPROACH

At Madrona, our team places great importance in understanding our gifted students and working alongside parents to create better learning environments, better relationships, and a more fulfilling childhood for our students and their families.

Our low student-to-educator ratio allows our team to focus on fostering these three relationships with our students;

RECOGNIZE

Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood. Our teachers have the capacity to get to know, understand, and listen to each student, and to respond to each students' learning needs and struggles.

TRUST

Teachers are given the opportunity to establish trust between them and the students. Students who feel safe and secure are more open and receptive to exploring new concepts.

MENTAL
WELLBEING

Our low ratio and small class sizes allow students to form deep and meaningful connections with their teachers and their peers – fostering lifelong social-emotional skills and mental wellbeing.
