We will be open and honest with you and expect the same in return. Our working assumption is that our relationship will thrive based on trust and sharing common goals for your child.
We encourage parent visits, secure in the knowledge that you too will see what we experience daily – the magic of education.
Feel free to stay and chat for a bit at the end of the day. Occasionally there will be a staff meeting or extra help session that precludes this, but more often than not, we have the time and welcome such opportunities.
We hope parents will be able to come on at least one of our field trips. Please, don’t be bashful about your own areas of expertise. We love having parents come in as guest teachers. Our experiences in this area have been uniformly happy. This past year, generous parents shared their skills in areas as diverse as tennis, a study of propaganda, newspaper writing, fine arts, and botany. A parent initiated, guided, and judged our Science Fair (which was an enormous success).
Take a moment to check the Photos area to see parents at work with our students.
Every day at Madrona brings an opportunity to broaden our community feeling. This, perhaps more than anything else, differentiates Madrona from other schools, both public and private.
