Excitement and Anticipation

We will create a sense of excitement and channel it appropriately.

  • At Madrona, we make periodic use of “cluster-enrichment” projects. These are either directly related to the curriculum or provoked by student interest. We group students according to complementary skills or like interest, depending on the project.
  • Each Friday our teachers give students opportunities to learn material beyond the curriculum. These include such adventures as learning SLR photography, creating an entirely digital yearbook, cooking, gardening, language learning, running, computer programming, music, and more.
  • Madrona students benefit from regular field trips and special guest lecturers. Check the Photos section to see our students enjoying an imaginative range of learning activities.
  • We also give students the opportunity to perform, primarily in the Arts area. This year Madrona students gave a wonderful, mostly vocal concert at Christmas. For a year-end finale, we are putting on a special "Broadway Lights" evening. Come see us.
  • The core of the school remains the academic program – well-structured, geared to students’ needs, and filled with the magic of learning. Your child's school year will be fulfilling, busy, and marked by many memorable events.
